An Agronomic Approach to Pine Nut Production by Grafting Stone Pine on Two Rootstocks

چکیده
Stone pine (Pinus pinea) grows in natural stands within the Mediterranean basin and its nut is highly appreciated for nutritional profile. Nevertheless, a decline this species due to biotic abiotic damages currently being clearly observed. This situation has led development as crop, try save production obtain regular harvests over years. Under agronomic scenario, aim of work was compare behavior stone grafted onto two rootstocks, P. pinea (PP) halepensis (PH), by evaluating cone productivity, tree growth response, mast seeding patterns composition. The field test composed 14 PH PP, randomly distributed into groups 4–5 trees/rootstock. Data were from seven productive growing seasons. results show higher ripe on PP rather than PH, although productivity (cones/m2 canopy) similar. Any effect rootstock observed pattern weight cones, while composition showed differences fatty acids content. global quality similar PP.

Allergy to pine nut.
BACKGROUND food allergy is highly prevalent in our environment, especially among atopic patients. Pinus pinea is common in our region and its fruit, the pine nut, is allergologically important. Several cases have been reported in the literature that demonstrate the existence of common antigenic bands between pine nut and almond. In this study we try to assess this finding and the possible exist...
متن کاملAllergic Reactions to Pine Nut: A Review.
Pine nut is a nutrient-rich food with a beneficial impact on human health. The many bioactive constituents of pine nut interact synergistically to affect human physiology in a favorable way. However, pine nut can trigger dangerous allergic reactions. Severe anaphylactic reactions to pine nut accounted for most of the 45 cases reported in the scientific literature. Pine nut allergy seems to be c...
متن کاملAnaphylaxis to pine nut: cross-reactivity to Artemisia vulgaris?
The use of pine nuts, the seeds of Pinus pinea, is on the increasing in the modern Mediterranean diet. Little more than 20 cases of allergy to this tree nut have been published, and cross-reactivity with pine pollen, peanut and almond has already been reported. We describe the case of a young boy with several episodes of anaphylaxis after pine nut ingestion. Specific IgE to pine nut and Artemis...
متن کاملTop Grafting Longleaf x Slash Pine F1 Hybrids on Mature Longleaf and Slash Pine Interstocks
-Top grafting is used to accelerate the breeding cycle of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L). Scions, collected from seedlings as young as 1 year from seed, are grafted onto mature interstocks of the same or a related species. Male and female strobili production often begins 1 or 2 years after grafting, thus potentially decreasing the generation time by several years over conventional accelerated br...
متن کاملTwo pediatric cases of pine nut allergy proved by oral food challenge
Methods We report the observations of two boys of age 5 and 11 formerly diagnosed with common food allergens. A secondary sensitization to pine nuts appears in skin prick tests using a commercial extract (Stallergènes, Antony, France). Specific serum IgE test (CAP-FEIA f253 Phadia) were performed. Because it was impossible to precise the consumption of pine nuts (anamnesis not informative enoug...
